A fire at a sponge factory in Jordan led to the collapse of two facades of the building due to the impact of the fire, which lasted for several hours last night. The Public Security Directorate stated that "what collapsed in the sponge factory building affected by the fire was two facades of the building due to the prolonged fire." They confirmed that "the building has been completely evacuated, and the surrounding area has been isolated, so no injuries were reported."
They indicated that "the remaining parts of the building suffered significant damage and large cracks, raising concerns about the collapse of the rest of the building, which is currently being assessed for possible removal and management by the relevant public safety committee, following the standard procedures."
The Public Security Directorate urged citizens to "stay away from the building and the surrounding area entirely, for their safety."
