The statement mentioned: "Among these names are Father Anastas Mari al-Karmali, poet Muhammad Mahdi al-Jawahiri, Dr. Ali al-Wardi, architect Zaha Hadid, and others, in honor of these inspiring names for our present and future, to connect with and evoke the rich Mesopotamian heritage; proudly before visitors and guests of Iraq and to solidify the connection of the government palace to the Iraqi state and its cultural symbols."
