Berri Optimistic but Cautious

Sources close to Speaker of the House Nabih Berri confirmed to "Al-Jumhuriya" that he is cautiously optimistic about the opportunity for internal dialogue regarding the presidential election following the initiative he launched during the festival commemorating the disappearance of Imam Musa al-Sadr. These sources pointed out that despite the rejection of Berri’s initiative by some Christian and political factions, it "remains capable of success if the Free Patriotic Movement, the majority of Sunni MPs, and part of the change MPs participate in the dialogue, noting that positive signals have come from these groups in response to the Speaker's proposal."
