The legendary Japanese forward Kazuyoshi Miura has achieved a new milestone by participating in his first match with Oliveira de Frades, a competitor in the Portuguese second division, at the age of 56. Miura came on as a substitute in the 90th minute during his team's victory on Saturday. According to the Portuguese league's website, "Miura becomes the oldest player ever to play in Portuguese football competitions, at 56 years, 1 month, and 24 days old."
Miura, who began his professional career nearly four decades ago, has played for several clubs around the world, including Palmeiras, Dinamo Zagreb, and Vissel Kobe. He has also appeared in 89 international matches, with his last appearance in the year 2000.
