Title: Foreign Ministry: Developments in Palestine Are Result of Direct Attacks on Sacred Sites

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced that it "is closely monitoring the ongoing developments on the ground in Palestine, which are a direct result of Israel's continued occupation of Palestinian territories and its daily assaults on Islamic and Christian sacred sites, in addition to its policy of settlement expansion, land grabbing, and depriving the steadfast Palestinian people of their basic rights." It emphasized in a statement that "the solution lies in the international community taking responsibility to pressure Israel to return to the path of peace based on well-known references, particularly the Arab Peace Initiative issued at the Beirut Summit in 2002, the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and the return of Palestinian refugees to their homes." The ministry warned that "the failure to find a fair, permanent, and comprehensive solution that ends the occupation of Arab lands and resolves the Palestinian issue threatens international peace and security."
