Ukraine Bombs Belgorod

Ukrainian forces shelled the Belgorod region, injuring at least 5 people and damaging homes and power lines, according to Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the area bordering Russia. The governor stated, "The town of Shebekino in the southern part of the region was bombed 4 times, resulting in 5 injuries." He noted that "Russian air defense systems shot down a drone in the town of Valuyki late Monday night. There was no information about any injuries or destruction, but emergency services are operating in the area." He pointed out that the shelling caused damage to several homes, as well as a farm, infrastructure, and power lines. Both sides deny targeting civilians in the conflict that has been ongoing for 14 months. Kyiv does not claim responsibility for any attacks inside Russia or in territories controlled by Moscow in Ukraine, but it has recently stated that "destroying infrastructure is preparation for a planned ground assault."
