The lawyer of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, Naeem Banguta, revealed that his imprisonment has been extended for an additional two weeks on charges of leaking state secrets. The lawyer stated that the period of detention has been extended until September 26. Khan has been in jail since early August after being previously convicted of corruption charges and sentenced to three years in prison. The Supreme Court suspended the sentence against him, but a prior order for his pre-trial detention related to the state secrets case prevented his release.
