Minister of Education Extends School Closure in Southern Lebanon

Minister of Education and Higher Education in the caretaker government, Abbas Halabi, has extended the decision regarding the closure of schools in the southern regions for tomorrow, Wednesday, October 18, 2023. The closure is limited to official and private schools located in villages immediately adjacent to the international southern border, and does not apply to other areas. Halabi confirmed that classes will continue in all other schools located in all districts. He reminded the educational staff, parents, and students of the circular he issued today, which outlines how students can transfer to schools in other areas, as well as how teachers can join new schools. He urged citizens to "follow the ministry's announcements day by day to stay updated on developments and to ensure the continuity of the school year."
