Sources have revealed that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is expected to meet with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam in Washington on September 28.
The sources confirmed that U.S. involvement remains strong in Lebanon and in the Lebanese-Israeli talks, despite developments related to Iran.
This anticipated meeting comes months after the initiation of the Lebanese-Israeli talks process, under U.S. sponsorship. Rubio hosted the first direct meeting between representatives of Lebanon and Israel in Washington on April 14, marking a significant diplomatic move without detailing a final framework at the time.
On June 26, Lebanese and Israeli representatives signed a framework agreement under U.S. auspices and in Rubio's presence.
