Israeli Channel 12 has reported that the upcoming round of talks in Rome could be postponed to a later date if no tangible progress is made on the ground. It is indicated that the eighth round of negotiations between Lebanon and Israel is unlikely to occur in Rome before mid-September.
Meanwhile, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee stated, "I met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. Ambassador to Beirut Michael Aissa to discuss the negotiations between Lebanon and Israel."
