Monsignor Abdo Abou Kassm, head of the Catholic Media Council, told MFM that statements made by Pope Leo were personal wishes directed at all Eastern church leaders and not specifically against Patriarch Rai.
He emphasized that rumors regarding Patriarch Rai's resignation are unfounded. There are no intentions for him to resign, and the Council of Bishops does not aim to dismiss him.
