The Turkish Ministry of Defense stated today, Monday, that "Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov will visit Turkey tomorrow, Tuesday, to discuss an agreement allowing the safe export of grain from several Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea during the war." The ministry added in a statement that "Kubrakov will meet with Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar in the city of Kayseri in central Turkey."
In this context, Ukraine noted that the "grain agreement is at risk of 'stopping' after Russia prevented the inspection of ships in Turkish waters under the agreement." The grain export agreement via the Black Sea, brokered by the United Nations, was extended for 60 days last month; however, Russia indicates that it "may not agree to further extensions unless the West removes the obstacles hindering the export of Russian grain and fertilizers."
