Washington Envoy to Yemen Visits Gulf to Strengthen Truce

The U.S. State Department announced in a statement that the U.S. Special Envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, will visit the Gulf today, Monday, "to push current efforts led by the United Nations to extend the truce and launch a comprehensive peace process." The department added that Envoy Tim Lenderking "will meet with Yemeni, Saudi, Emirati, Omani, and international partners to discuss the necessary steps to secure a permanent ceasefire and initiate a comprehensive political process mediated by the United Nations, while ensuring continued efforts to alleviate the economic crisis and the suffering of the Yemeni people."
