Meeting Between Al-Rahi and Bou Saab: Bkerke Not Concerned with Publications

Maronite Patriarch Beshara Al-Rahi briefed Deputy Speaker Elias Bou Saab about his visit to the Vatican and France last week during a meeting that took place yesterday in Bkerke. They discussed the latest developments on the local scene, especially regarding the presidential file. In response to Bou Saab's question about media reports concerning President Nabih Berri, Al-Rahi stated that "this information is inaccurate and was not published in the context in which it was said." He emphasized that "any official stance issued in a statement from the patriarchal edifice is to be taken into account, and aside from that, Bkerke is not concerned with any news published." At the end of the meeting, Bou Saab noted the intention to continue visiting the patriarchal edifice for consultations and updates following the electoral parliamentary session called by the Speaker of Parliament on June 14.
