16 Dead and 9 Injured in Fire in Dubai

A spokesman from the Dubai Civil Defense announced that "a fire broke out in a residential building in the Al-Ras area of Dubai, resulting in the death of 16 people and the injury of 9 others." He expressed "sincere condolences and sympathy to the families and loved ones of the deceased." He confirmed that "civil defense teams responded immediately upon receiving the report, reaching the scene within 6 minutes, where they began to combat the fire. Preliminary investigations revealed violations by the building owner regarding safety and security regulations, while relevant authorities continue to investigate the full circumstances of the incident." The spokesman clarified that "the incident occurred in a residential building, specifically in an apartment on the fourth floor, and the scale of the incident was significant, prompting the deployment of the Port Said Fire Station and Al-Hamriya Fire Station for support. Specialized teams immediately began evacuation and firefighting operations." The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Dubai emphasized the importance of "owners and residents of various residential buildings, as well as commercial establishments, fully complying with safety and security requirements, as this is crucial in avoiding such incidents caused by non-compliance with those requirements, thus safeguarding lives and properties."
