Chinese Premier: China and Europe Must

Chinese Premier Li Qiang told European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on the sidelines of the annual G20 summit in New Delhi that China and Europe must "unite and cooperate" in the face of global uncertainties. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Li told von der Leyen on Saturday, "Preventing risks does not prevent cooperation." In a statement released today, the ministry noted that Li urged the European Union to provide a non-discriminatory environment for Chinese companies, adding that China is eager to enhance dialogue and cooperation in areas such as clean energy and green finance. The statement quoted Li saying, "China and the EU must continue to unite and cooperate, utilizing the stability of China-EU relations to hedge against global uncertainties."
