Houthi Anti-Ship Missile Fired Towards the Red Sea and Intercepted by USS Gravely

The U.S. military announced today, Wednesday, that the Houthis launched a cruise anti-ship missile from their controlled areas in Yemen towards the Red Sea last night. The U.S. Central Command confirmed in a statement published on the platform X that the American destroyer Gravely intercepted the missile and that there were no reports of injuries or damage. The Houthis claim they are targeting ships owned or operated by Israeli companies or transporting goods to and from Israel, in solidarity with the besieged Gaza Strip, which has been under Israeli attack since October 7. The United States and Britain have conducted strikes on Houthi positions multiple times this month aimed at disrupting and weakening the group's capabilities to threaten navigation in the Red Sea and undermine global trade.
