Chinese President Meets with Leaders of Mauritania and Burundi in Chengdu

Official Chinese media reported today that China intends to strengthen practical cooperation with Africa and Arab countries, according to President Xi Jinping during a meeting with Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani in Chengdu, in the southeastern part of the country. The official radio added that the two countries signed a cooperation agreement to enhance joint construction operations for major infrastructure projects under the Belt and Road Initiative. Xi also met with Burundian President Évariste Ndayishimiye and emphasized that China is open to enhancing communication and cooperation with Burundi on major international issues, especially important matters in Africa.
