Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi confirmed that "Iran is ready to share its capabilities with friendly countries like Sri Lanka," noting the "remarkable progress Iran has achieved in various fields despite harsh sanctions."
During his meeting on Sunday with Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry, Raisi explained that "the various capabilities in both countries provide a suitable ground that can elevate bilateral relations to higher levels."
He emphasized "the necessity of increasing the activity of the joint committee for economic cooperation between Iran and Sri Lanka," stating: "Different countries around the world, including Sri Lanka, have great potentials for development, which could have led to the growth and prosperity of these countries had it not been for colonial interventions and foreign ambitions."
For his part, the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister addressed the constructive activities of Iranian companies in his country, affirming his government's interest in expanding cooperation with Iran in various economic, technological, and medical fields.
