Raducanu Withdraws from Exhibition Match at Macau Tennis Championship

IMG, the management company for Emma Raducanu, the former US Open tennis champion, announced that the British player has withdrawn from an exhibition match in December at the Macau Masters as she continues to recover from wrist and ankle surgery. Raducanu was scheduled to make her competitive return following surgery in May, but she decided to extend her recovery period on her 21st birthday. Raducanu won her first Grand Slam title at the age of 18 in New York in 2021 as a qualifier, but she has not played since April and missed the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open, dropping to 289th in the world rankings. She began light training in August and stated that she is aiming for a return soon in preparation for the upcoming season. The first Grand Slam of the season is set to take place in Australia on January 15.
