As a result of the security measures taken by the army units in various Lebanese regions during August 2023, the Army Command - Directorate of Guidance revealed that 761 individuals of different nationalities were arrested for their involvement in various crimes and offenses, including drug trafficking, theft, smuggling, possession of weapons and prohibited items, and roaming within Lebanese territory without legal residency, as well as driving cars and motorcycles without legal documents.
The seizures included 99 weapons of various types, 6 hand grenades, quantities of light and medium ammunition, several vehicles and motorcycles, along with a quantity of drugs, various materials prepared for smuggling, and several communication devices. The detainees and the seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities for necessary actions.
