Lavrov Discusses Middle East Conflict with Saudi Counterpart

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Minister Sergey Lavrov had a phone call with Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Tuesday, during which they discussed the resolution of the Middle East conflict. The ministry added in a statement that the ministers also discussed bilateral relations as well as cooperation within the BRICS group, which Saudi Arabia is set to join on January 1. Russia, a major oil exporter, has taken coordinated steps to reduce production with Saudi Arabia over the past year as part of the OPEC+ alliance to support global oil prices.
