ADNOC Logistics and Services announced on Thursday the addition of five new giant gas carriers to its shipping fleet. Each of the five giant gas carriers (Al Ain, Zakhir, Rubdan, Al Salam, and Beynouna) has a capacity of 86,000 cubic meters and operates with a dual-fuel engine that uses liquefied petroleum gas, making them the lowest emission vessels in the giant gas carrier category. Captain Abdul Karim Al Masabi, CEO of ADNOC Logistics and Services, stated, "The addition of these new carriers represents an important achievement that contributes to enhancing the company's capabilities to leverage the growing global demand for energy." He added, "Natural gas is playing an increasingly significant role in the global energy landscape, and ADNOC Logistics and Services is expanding its fleet of gas carriers to meet client demand while simultaneously reducing emissions from its fleet."
Moreover, Ko Juan Joo, CEO of Wanhua Chemical Group, remarked, "AW Shipping has added great value to both Wanhua Group and ADNOC Logistics and Services by improving supply chains. We will work together to significantly develop AW Shipping's business in the future." For his part, Lin Ou, Chairman of Jiangnan Shipyard, indicated that "the giant gas carriers we are building align with future ambitions, especially regarding sustainability, as they are equipped with dual-fuel engine technology and advanced vertical generators, allowing them to meet the latest and most stringent energy efficiency requirements."
