U.S. Stocks Close Higher

U.S. stocks closed higher on Tuesday, bolstered by strong bank earnings that contributed to the Dow Jones index achieving its longest daily winning streak in over two years. Shares of Morgan Stanley and Bank of America surged after their earnings exceeded expectations. Additionally, shares of BNY Mellon and PNC Financial also rose following the announcement of their quarterly results, which also surpassed forecasts. According to preliminary data, the S&P 500 index increased by 32.37 points, or 0.72%, to 4,555.16 points. The Nasdaq Composite rose by 108.69 points, or 0.76%, to 14,353.64 points. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 366.38 points, or 1.06%, to 34,951.30 points. The Dow Jones marked its seventh consecutive rise on Tuesday, the longest streak since March 2021.
