The Asian Football Confederation, on Thursday, held the draw for the U23 Asian Cup qualifiers 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A total of 43 teams will participate in the qualifiers, which will take place from September 4 to 12.
Group A includes Jordan, Syria, Oman, and Brunei, promising fierce competition among the Arab teams for qualification, especially as the group leaders in each of the ten groups will qualify directly, along with the best four second-placed teams from all groups.
Group B features Qatar, which qualified as the host, alongside South Korea, Myanmar, and Kyrgyzstan. In Group C, teams Vietnam, Singapore, Yemen, and Guam will compete.
Group D consists of Japan, Bahrain, Palestine, and Pakistan, leading to a competition between the two Arab teams for qualifying spots. Group E includes Uzbekistan, Iran, Hong Kong, and Afghanistan.
Group F comprises Iraq and Kuwait, along with Timor and Macau. Group G contains the UAE, India, the Maldives, and China. Group H is made up of Thailand, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and the Philippines.
Group I consists of Australia, Tajikistan, Laos, and North Korea, while Group IX includes Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, along with Cambodia and Mongolia. Finally, Group X features Turkmenistan, Indonesia, China, and Taiwan.
