As part of the ongoing efforts by the Internal Security Forces to develop and improve the efficiency of its officers and personnel, a graduation ceremony was held on September 6, 2023, at the Special Forces Barracks in Al-Warwar, for 5 officers who completed a special operations training course. The event included the receipt of a donation from the U.S. Embassy.
The ceremony was attended by a representative of the Director General of the Internal Security Forces, Major General Imad Osman, the Commander of the Judicial Police Unit, Brigadier General Ziyad Qudaih, and a delegation from the U.S. Embassy, which included Chargé d'Affaires Amanda Bales, INL Office Director in Lebanon David Atkinson, INL Office Coordinator in Lebanon Aline Chamchian, and Kelly Burgas from the FBI.
The event featured a display of equipment used by the SWAT and BRI detachments within the Judicial Police Unit, along with the American donation which included military gear, medical equipment, two operating rooms, and spare parts for vehicles. At the conclusion of the event, certificates were distributed to the graduating officers, and commemorative photos were taken.
