Inter Miami Continues Winning Streak in Messi's Absence

Inter Miami continued its winning streak in the absence of Lionel Messi, defeating Sporting Kansas City 3-2 thanks to a brace from Leonardo Campana in the Major League Soccer last night. The Argentine star and seven other players missed the game due to international commitments, yet the team maintained an undefeated streak of 12 matches across all competitions.

Inter Miami fell behind early with a goal from Daniel Salloi in the ninth minute, but the home team recovered with two consecutive goals from Campana. Facundo Farías added a third goal an hour into the match, while Alan Pulido reduced the deficit for Kansas City in the 78th minute. However, Coach Tata Martino's team held on to emerge victorious.

Inter Miami remains in second-to-last place in the Eastern Conference with 28 points from 26 matches, six points behind the playoff spots. Messi scored a free-kick goal to lead world champions Argentina to a 1-0 victory over Ecuador in the opening match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and will visit Bolivia next Tuesday.
