U.S. Assistant Secretary of State to Visit Lebanon

According to information from "An-Nahar," U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Barbara Leaf will visit Beirut next week. Her agenda includes meetings with Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Najib Mikati, and Army Commander General Joseph Aoun. It is known that Leaf will emphasize the importance of preventing Lebanon from entering a war with Israel while stressing Lebanon's commitment to implementing Resolution 1701. Leaf's visit to Lebanon is part of a regional tour that includes the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, and Israel.
