A horrifying crime occurred in the Haram district of Giza, Egypt, where a man killed his wife and five daughters over financial disputes. Egyptian media reported the details of the incident on Tuesday after authorities announced the arrest of a suspect for the murder of his wife and one daughter and for attempting to kill four others, a case that has been dubbed the "Haram Massacre."
According to the suspect's confessions, he expressed dissatisfaction with his wife's childbirth, specifically that she only gave birth to girls and criticized her for not having male children. The dispute escalated to him trying to eliminate his family.
The chain of events began when the Egyptian emergency services received reports from residents of the village of Kafr Ghatati in Haram about hearing violent arguments between a man and his wife, prompting the police to investigate the scene.
Upon inspection and investigation led by the General Administration of Giza Investigations, the bodies of a woman and a 9-year-old girl were discovered. Nearby, four girls were found with severe stab wounds and cuts to their necks, and they were transported to Haram Hospital in critical condition. The youngest, named Sajada, is 5 years old, while the oldest, named Malak, is 16 years old.
