Al-Ahed, the defending champion, temporarily topped the standings of the 63rd Lebanese Premier League following their victory over Shabab Al-Sahyal (2-0) in a match held today, Saturday, at Fouad Chehab Sports Complex in Jounieh, in the fourth round of the second phase of the top team group that includes the top six teams from the regular league. The goals were scored in the first half by Ali Al-Haj and Mohammad Haidar. With this victory, Al-Ahed, aiming for a ninth title, has renewed its win against Shabab Al-Sahyal in the top group, while awaiting the results of their title competitors, Ansar (the leaders) and Al-Nijmeh (third), who will meet tomorrow afternoon at the same venue.
