Iranian media confirmed on Friday evening the occurrence of an earthquake in the northwestern part of the country. It was reported that a magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck the Ardabil province in northwestern Iran tonight. No official reports have been issued regarding any human or material losses as a result of the earthquake.
