Turkey, Romania, and Bulgaria Sign Agreement to Remove Mines from the Black Sea

Turkey, Romania, and Bulgaria signed an agreement on Thursday regarding a joint plan to remove drifting mines in the Black Sea as a result of the war in Ukraine, following months of discussions among NATO member countries. Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Güler, Romanian Defense Minister Angel Tilvar, and Bulgarian Deputy Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov signed a memorandum of understanding in Istanbul to form a trilateral initiative to eliminate mines from the Black Sea caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
