The ongoing battles in southern Lebanon between forces affiliated with Hezbollah and Israeli forces at the border have seen a significant development, with Israel announcing that a special force carried out an operation inside Lebanon. Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated in a post on his X account that "a special force eliminated a threat in the Ayta ash-Shab area." This marks the first time Israel has declared the use of special forces to conduct operations inside Lebanon since the outbreak of hostilities in October 2023. The spokesperson did not provide any details about the operation. Today, the border witnessed a significant escalation in Israeli bombing, with the National News Agency in Lebanon (governmental) reporting that over 15 airstrikes targeted the outskirts of the Salouqi Valley and the Tarik Rab thirty area. Israeli media mentioned striking 150 targets.
