Qatar Signs Agreement to Supply Japan with Condensates for 10 Years

Qatar Energy has announced that it "has signed an agreement to supply Mitsui & Co. of Japan with approximately 11 million barrels of condensates annually for ten years starting from April." The state-owned company in Qatar stated in a release that "the agreement includes an option to increase Qatar Energy's exports of condensates to Mitsui & Co. when additional quantities become available from the North Field LNG expansion project in Qatar." Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida had approved the strengthening of energy relations and economic cooperation with Doha in July during his visit to Qatar, one of the key gas-producing countries. The North Field expansion project is expected to increase Qatar's production to 126 million metric tons of LNG annually by 2027, up from the current 77 million metric tons.
