Thieves Steal Balmain Outfits Before Paris Fashion Show

Creative director of the French fashion house Balmain, Olivier Rousteing, announced that the house lost dozens of pieces that were set to be unveiled during a fashion show in Paris this month after a truck transporting the clothing was robbed. Rousteing stated in an Instagram post that thieves seized the truck carrying approximately 50 pieces from the new Balmain collection while en route from Paris airport to the brand's headquarters in the French capital. He added that the truck driver is fine. In his message, he said, "We are working on redesigning all the pieces, but what happened is truly shameful." Balmain's collection for Spring/Summer 2024 is scheduled to be presented on September 27 during Paris Fashion Week, which features other luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chanel, and Hermès. A spokesperson for Balmain confirmed the organization of the fashion show in Paris but declined to comment on the theft incident pending the outcome of the investigation. Balmain is managed by Mayhoola, an investment company backed by the Qatari royal family.
