The Spanish Football Federation announced a penalty for Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez and player Raphinha Dias. The sanction is in response to incidents that occurred during the Catalan team's match against Getafe, which took place last Sunday in the first round of this season's Spanish league. According to the Spanish newspaper "Sport," the Competition Committee decided to suspend Xavi for two matches and impose a fine of 600 euros, along with a fine of 700 euros on the Catalan club.
As for Raphinha, the Brazilian winger will face the same punishment as his coach, having received a direct red card for his violent tackle on Gaston Alvarez. Consequently, both will miss Barcelona's matches against Cadiz and Villarreal in this season's La Liga 2023-2024.
