Ukrainian Kharkiv region governor Oleksii Synehubov reported that the death toll from the Russian missile attack on the village of Hroza in northeastern Ukraine has risen to 52 as of Friday, after one more person died in the hospital overnight. A missile struck a café and grocery store in the village on Thursday while people were gathering to mourn a fallen Ukrainian soldier. Synehubov stated on Ukrainian television, "52 people have died as a result of this missile attack. One person died in the hospital. There are still people there (in hospitals). The injuries are extremely severe." He added that rescue teams are still working at the attack site. Three days of mourning have been declared in the Kharkiv region following the deadliest attack in the area since the Russian invasion of Ukraine over 19 months ago. The assault resulted in one of the highest civilian death tolls from a single Russian strike. Moscow denies targeting civilians intentionally, but many have been killed in attacks on residential areas and facilities related to energy, defense, ports, grain, and other installations.
