The Lebanese Army announced that its unit operating in the south discovered rocket platforms and a number of missiles ready for launch in the vicinity of the towns of Zebqein and Qlaileh, and efforts are underway to dismantle them. In another statement, the Lebanese Army indicated that it is conducting patrols in the area in close coordination with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon.
In political positions, Lebanon affirmed "its full respect and commitment to UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and Lebanon's keenness on calm and stability in southern Lebanon, calling on the international community to pressure Israel to stop the escalation."
In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry following a meeting between the caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Abdullah Bou Habib, it was emphasized that "Lebanon expresses its willingness to cooperate with peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon and to take appropriate measures to restore calm and stability, warning against Israel's escalation intentions that threaten regional and international peace and security."
Earlier today, the Israeli army radio announced "the launch of 34 rockets from southern Lebanon, 5 of which fell in populated areas, and more than 20 rockets were intercepted."
