The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that a convoy carrying wounded from Al-Shifa Hospital was attacked while on its way to the Rafah crossing for treatment abroad. The ministry indicated that they requested protection from the Red Cross before the convoy’s departure and asked for its accompaniment, but the Israeli army ignored the international humanitarian call and insisted on attacking the convoy. According to the director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, there are about 60 individuals among the dead and injured in the Israeli strike targeting the gate of Al-Shifa Hospital. Earlier, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Ashraf Qudra, stated that severely injured individuals in need of treatment in Egypt would be transferred from Gaza City and northern Gaza to the south. The Israeli army commented on the massacre: "One of our aircraft targeted an ambulance identified as being used by a Hamas unit, resulting in the death of several of the movement's activists in the strike."
