Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding Between a Chinese Company and the Iraqi Al-Muhandis Group

Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces indicated that "the state-owned Al-Muhandis Group has signed a wide-ranging memorandum of understanding with the Chinese giant construction company 'CMEIC' in the first publicly announced agreement with an international company.” The statement from the regular Popular Mobilization Forces, which includes many armed factions allied with Iran, added that "the agreement envisions joint projects in areas including construction, engineering, trade, services, and energy."
