Hebrew Channel Leaks Proposal to End War in Gaza

Israeli Channel 13 reported details of what it claimed is a proposal attributed to Qatar aimed at ending the war in Gaza. The proposal includes the expulsion of Hamas leaders from the Gaza Strip, the release of all hostages, albeit in phases, in exchange for the withdrawal of the Israeli army. No official information or statements have been released from Doha regarding this matter, and the claim has not been verified by an independent source.

Israel has not yet been able to reach any of the senior Hamas leaders in the Gaza Strip, including Yahya Sinwar and the first-tier leaders of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

What does Channel 13 say?

According to "sources close to officials in Doha," Qatar has drafted a proposal to be presented on Wednesday evening to the Israeli Security Cabinet, as stated by the Israeli channel. Under the alleged proposal, Channel 13 reported, "Hamas leaders will be exiled from the Gaza Strip, all hostages will be released, albeit in phases, and the Israeli army will withdraw from the area."

Hamas Responds

Osama Hamdan, a representative of Hamas in Lebanon, stated in press remarks that "there is no initiative of this kind; it is a process of deceit and misdirection practiced by the occupying government to soothe and calm the angry public, especially the families of the detainees." He added: "We affirm that our position is clear: no initiatives are acceptable unless they are fundamentally based on a complete cessation and end to the aggression on the Gaza Strip."

Israeli Support

The Israeli Committee for the Missing and Captured stated: "Reports about the new deal that will be presented to the Cabinet bring some hope to families worried about the fate of their loved ones who have been trapped in Hamas tunnels since 2013."
