Killings of a Revolutionary Guard Advisor in Israeli Strike in Damascus

An advisor from the Revolutionary Guard named Saeed Ali Dadi was killed as a result of an airstrike attributed to Israel that targeted areas around the Syrian capital, Damascus, early Friday. Iran uses the term "advisor" to refer to its military forces present in Syria. For years, it has claimed that its presence in the country is limited to this category, although many Western and local sources confirm its involvement in deploying foreign factions on the ground, primarily "Fatemiyoun" and "Zainabiyoun." The Iranian Student News Agency affiliated with the Basij movement reported that Ali Dadi was killed "following an attack launched by Israeli warplanes on the southern outskirts of the Syrian capital, Damascus, on Friday morning." In turn, the semi-official Iranian news agency "Tasnim" confirmed the death of Ali Dadi in Syria due to what it described as an Israeli "aggression" in southern Damascus. Iranian media did not provide further information about Ali Dadi, his rank, or position he held in southern Damascus. Users and militias supported by Iran shared a picture of the deceased on social media. In response to a question regarding the strikes, the Israeli army stated on Friday that it does not comment on reports from foreign media.
