German authorities raided dozens of locations across the country on Wednesday after Interior Minister Nancy Faeser banned an extremist right-wing group accused of spreading Nazi ideology. The Interior Ministry stated that officials targeted the headquarters of the group known as "Artegemeinschaft" along with 26 homes belonging to 39 members in 12 states early Wednesday morning. Faeser remarked, "This is another strong blow against right-wing extremism and ideologues who continue to spread Nazi ideology to this day." She added, "This extremist group has attempted to recruit new enemies of the constitution by promoting its disgusting teachings to children and adolescents." Earlier this month, German authorities also banned another neo-Nazi group called "Hammerskins Deutschland," which has roots in the United States, and raided the homes of 28 members following an investigation that lasted more than a year in cooperation with American officials.
