Pope Francis declared the canonization of a woman from his home country of Argentina for the first time, in an event attended by Argentine President Javier Milei, who had previously criticized the pope publicly. Milei, a right-wing liberal, used derogatory terms for Francis before his candidacy for the presidency, but has softened his tone since taking office in December. For his part, the pope stated that he did not pay attention to the insult and told the Mexican television channel (AN+) that what really matters is the actions of politicians during their time in office, not during their election campaigns.
