Abu Marzouk: For Russia to Be a Key Player in Ending the Conflict in Gaza

Mousa Abu Marzouk, the Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, affirmed the movement's insistence that Russia should play a key role alongside the United States and Israel in ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In an interview with the "Novosti" agency, Abu Marzouk stated, "The movement demands that Russia be a key player facing the United States and Israel, and that it receives support from several countries that will back it. We will try to achieve this goal to create a balance in the negotiations for a solution." He also confirmed Hamas's readiness to continue negotiations with Israel through intermediaries, highlighting that "the movement's priority is the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, the arrival of humanitarian aid, and the release of hostages and prisoners on both sides." The Russian Foreign Ministry also confirmed on Friday its readiness to continue contributing to efforts for a comprehensive settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
