The Polish Football Union announced on Friday the suspension of Legia Warsaw defender Filip Mladenović for three months following an assault on three players after winning the Polish Cup. Legia claimed the Polish Cup title for the 20th time on Tuesday after defeating Raków Częstochowa, the league leader, 6-5 on penalties after the match ended in a scoreless draw. Players rushed onto the field after Legia's goalkeeper Kacper Tobiasz saved the final penalty. Video footage on social media showed Mladenović being harassed by several Raków players, but he responded by punching three players. The Polish union stated that Mladenović was fined approximately $29,000 and will be suspended from both league and cup competitions, missing the opening matches of the new season starting in July.
