Gulf Cooperation Council Calls for Protection of the Palestinian People

The announcement from the Gulf summit welcomed Saudi Arabia's initiative to formulate international action to stop the war in Gaza, reaffirming that "our position on the Palestinian issue is steadfast, aiming for the end of the occupation and a two-state solution." In the declaration issued after the conclusion of the summit, the Gulf Cooperation Council urged the international community "to intervene to halt the fire and protect the Palestinians."

Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani stated on Tuesday that mediation talks regarding Gaza are still ongoing with the goal of ending the war. He added at a press conference following the Gulf Cooperation Council summit: "Qatar continues to make efforts to restore the truce, release hostages, and facilitate prisoner exchanges." He noted that the summit held in Doha emphasized the importance of ongoing mediation efforts to achieve a ceasefire.

On another note, the Gulf Cooperation Council expressed support for "OPEC+" decisions aimed at achieving balance in oil markets.
