Egypt warned today, Sunday, of "grave consequences" from a potential Israeli military attack on the city of Rafah in southern Gaza near its borders. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "Egypt calls for the necessity of uniting all international and regional efforts to prevent targeting the Palestinian city of Rafah." Regarding the planned attack, the ministry added that Cairo warned "of the grave consequences of such an action, especially in light of the risks of exacerbating the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza."
