More Than 100 Evacuated from Gaza Arrive in Turkey

Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca and a source from the Foreign Ministry in Ankara stated that more than 100 individuals evacuated from Gaza are scheduled to arrive in Turkey today, Monday, among them dozens who will receive medical care there. Koca mentioned that 61 patients accompanied by 49 relatives reached Egypt from Gaza last night, Sunday, and are set to fly to Ankara this morning after spending the night at Al Arish Hospital. Last week, he stated that Ankara aims to bring as many as possible from about 1,000 cancer patients in Gaza to Turkey. The first group of 27 patients arrived in Ankara on Thursday. A source from the Foreign Ministry noted that a group of 87 Turks, Turkish Cypriots, and their relatives separately reached Egypt from Gaza yesterday, Sunday, and are scheduled to fly to Istanbul this evening. Media reports indicated that 44 Turks who left Gaza for Egypt earlier this week arrived in Istanbul yesterday, Sunday. The Foreign Ministry source also mentioned that Turkey will attempt to evacuate around 100 more individuals from Gaza today, Monday, if the conditions on the ground permit. Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmed Yildiz stated a month ago that approximately 700 individuals, including Turks, Palestinians, and Turkish Cypriots, had applied to Turkey for evacuation from Gaza. About 300 of them are Turkish.
