Drink That Destroys Teeth More Than Coffee or Tea... What Is It?

To keep your teeth shiny, you must think carefully about what you eat and drink. While tea and coffee are often blamed, there are other drinks that can harm teeth and contribute to staining them even more. Dentist Khaled Qassem stated that lemon water, for example, despite its fantastic properties related to delaying aging and supporting immunity, can cause serious damage to teeth. He added, "You should be extremely careful when drinking lemon water, which, although refreshing, is highly acidic and leads to the erosion of tooth enamel." A medical report released in 2019 found that lemon water can have anti-aging properties and helps enhance the gut microbiome, thus improving the digestive process, which explains why people are keen on regularly consuming it. Qassem said, "Lemon juice is very acidic and can lead to enamel erosion, making your teeth susceptible to gum disease and decay over time. If any signs of mouth sores appear, avoid it completely, as the acidity can cause irritation and inflammation."
